Dr. Yaşar Başağa

Dr. Yaşar Başağa graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2014 and completed his urology residency at Erciyes University, where he concentrated on andrology and functional urology: male sexual health, male infertility and urethral surgery.

In 2018 he began a PhD in Regenerative Medicine Sciences at the Erciyes University Genome and Regenerative Medicine Centre, which shaped his interest in stem cell and other regenerative treatments for erectile dysfunction.

During his time at Kayseri City Hospital he introduced penile prosthesis implantation, Peyronie's surgery and urethroplasty to the hospital and became its highest-volume surgeon for complex operations. Since November 2021 he has treated patients at his own clinic in Istanbul, and teaches as an Assistant Professor at Nişantaşı University Faculty of Medicine.

He holds the Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) diploma and was the first Turkish urologist to receive a Center of Excellence certificate for prosthetic urology. He now trains other surgeons in minimally invasive penile prosthesis techniques and in cryoablation for premature ejaculation.
